This goes without saying but be prepared for your move. There is more to think about than just getting to the UK. Depending on where you are relocating, look into the city or town you are moving to. Consider local dialect too, of course in the UK the national language is English but the accents of people from London, Newcastle and Glasgow are completely different despite being such a small nation so maybe brush up on your slang before you move.

As you move away from the capital you may find housing is a bit more affordable. It’s important to have somewhere to stay before you make your move so look into house-sharing or if you can try and sort somewhere to rent before you move.

Do your research on the job market around where you are moving to, make sure you have your CV up to date and get everything you’ll need in place before you go. Prepare for a Challenge 

Moving to a new country is going to be a difficult task. More than likely you aren’t going to know many locals, besides who you move with. All the shops are going to be different, this might not sound like much but depending where you go prices vary massively. 

Getting your new life set up is going to be a task too, you’ll need to set up a phone, maybe start hunting for a house and a job as well as learning to navigate around your new home. The UK has a huge 4G network so that’s covered at least. Like we mentioned before, preparing beforehand can be a massive help with work and housing. 

Meeting new people isn’t really all that difficult, depending on where you go, strangers will say hello on the street and might stop for a chat or you can head to the local pub.  Just getting out and exploring is a great way of meeting new people and learning about your local area all in one.

Be Realistic

Not everything is sunshine and rainbows, it’s certainly not with the UK weather either. Things might get tough but you can get through it.
